Travelling with children

Children between 2 and 5 years old can travel unaccompanied if the parent or the legal guardian:

  • announces the child when booking the ticket;
  • requests an escort for the child and pays a round ticket for the escort;
  • receives a confirmation from TAROM for the child's transportation and the existence of the escort;
  • fills in the companion request form (Handling Advice) at the registration desk.

Children between 5 and 12 years old can travel unaccompanied if the parent or the legal guardian:

  • announces the child when booking the ticket and receives a confirmation from TAROM for the child's transportation
  • fills in the companion request form (Handling Advice) at the registration desk.

Children between 12 and 18 years old will be considered Unaccoumpanies minors and treated this way, if the parents or legal guardian especially requests it.

Romanian citizens (regardless of residence), between 2 and 18 years old can travel if they fullfill the following conditions:

  • have a mandate from both parents, signed in the presence of a registrar showing that the minor is going to travel accompanied by a TAROM representative;
  • have a Handling Advice form filled in by the parents.

If a Romanian citizen, between 2 and 18 years old travels with only one parent, the latter must have a mandate showing that the other parent agrees with the trip.î

For children who travel unaccompanied on TAROM flights in connection with Air Europa (UX) this possibility is not acceptable if the child has to spend more than 3 hours in transit.

TAROM will charge 40 euros/one way flight for unaccompanied children transportation on the external flights and 20 euros/one way flight for internal flights.
