News for TAROM Smart Miles members

Starting June 2010 - date on which TAROM will join the SkyTeam alliance - TAROM will adopt Flying Blue, the loyalty program owned by Air France and KLM.

SkyTeam is the second global airline alliance which includes 11 members: Air France, KLM, Alitalia, Aeroflot, Czech Airlines, Delta Airlines, Aeromexico, China Southern, Korean Air, Air Europa and Kenya Airways.

By TAROM joining the SkyTeam alliance, TAROM's customers will have access to a large network of destinations (over 18000 daily flights to 900 destinations), competitive fares and a number of high standard services. They will have the opportunity to become members in the Flying Blue program which provides exclusive benefits and privileges in each of its four tiers of membership: Ivory, Silver, Gold and Platinum.

The new loyalty program will offer the advantage of earning and spending miles on any SkyTeam airline and more than 100 non-airline partners and 30 airline partners. The award miles earned by Flying Blue members are valid for life time as long as the customers fly at least once every 20 months on a SkyTeam flight. Flying Blue program rewards its loyal customers with flight awards to many destinations, flight upgrades, extra baggage awards, services from partners, round the world award tickets.

In the first half of January 2010, all Smart Miles customers will be provided with all the necessary information regarding the Smart Miles transition to the Flying Blue program.
