TAROM- Thinking GREEN, to keep the SKY BLUE

The Copenhagen Climate Summit which was held between the 7th of December and the 18th of December 2009 was a long-expected event by the entire civil aviation branch, where leaders of 65 countries had met in order to establish the global measures that need to be implemented for reducing the environmental pollution.

TAROM Company was the only airline from European Union which organized within the Copenhaga Summit, a side event having the fuel saving theme, centered on existing politics at the national level, giving concrete examples for reducing emissions.

The TAROM side event took place on Friday 11thof December 2009, 6 p.m., at EU Pavillon C5, MONNER Room.

The environment policy of TAROM

TAROM wants to prove that is possible to increse the airline traffic with the imposed limits to protect the environment.

TAROM is one of the first airlines in the world to initiate the pilot project "Continuous Descent Approach" (CDA): a totally new landing procedure with the purpose of reducing the amount of burned fuel."
