TAROM flight firming policy

Along with the new application, TAROM introduced a new flight firming policy / ticket time limit. This new policy will increase availability of all fares and possibility to recover seats on flights/classes closed for sales. The new flight firming policy will be applied on all markets.

The new application is a collection of highly configurable revenue integrity processes designed to cleanse inventory. The main processes are checks for and action: PNRs to setting and enforcing ticketing time limits, PNRs with duplicate and/or fictitious ticket numbers, PNRs with suspected fictitious names, duplicate PNRS, duplicate segments, PNRs that don't fit the RO criteria for MCT, PNRs booked in improper classes;

For automatic/electronic ticketing, the ticket number have to appear in Amadeus as follows, according to the GDS originating the PNR:

AMADEUS FA
GALILEO SSR TKNA RO OR SSR TKNE RO
SABRE SSR TKNA RO OR SSR TKNE RO
WORLDPAN SSR TKNA RO OR SSR TKNE RO
APOLLO SSR TKNA RO OR SSR TKNE RO
ABACUS SSR TKNA RO OR SSR TKNE RO

In case of a ticket already issued, the ticket number have to be manually included in the PNR, as follows:

OSI RO TKNE (for electronic ticket already issued and included manually in the PNR)
OSI RO TKNM (for paper ticket) - accepted in special cases only

The ticket numbers must be shown on the face of the PNR.

Attn: the validity of manual ticket numbers will be checked. In case a fictitious ticket number is entered, the seat is automatically cancelled with no advance notice and returned to inventory. The ticket numbers must cover all flight segments in the PNR.

If you make any flight/date changes to a PNR, after the ticket was issued, please remember to re-introduce the ticket number manually using the correct format. A valid ticket number must appear in the active portion of the PNR in order to avoid further flight firming and possible automatic cancellation.

Correct format to re-introduce the ticket number manually is:

OSI RO TKNE 28112345678901 or OSI RO TKNE 28112345678901/P1
OSI RO NEW TRAVEL DATES DEPT 21MAR07 RETURN 28MAR07
Correct format to advice PTA: OSI RO PTA 28112345678901 (if applicable)

All PNRs having only TKOK on ticketing line, but not a valid ticket number included, will be considered as NO TICKETED. All PNRs having TKTL on ticketing line and a ticket number manually included, will be considered as NO TICKETED and will be automatically cancelled.

All PNRs with "previous TKT use" mention in the PNR, will be treated as fictitious TKT NBRs and will be automatically cancelled with no advance notice. Example:

2HF4OQ
1.DAVID/LEON 2.DAVID/FREDY 3.DAVID/LIA 4.RUDMAN/OLGA
5.RUDMAN/GAL 6.RUDMAN/HANY 7.RUDMAN/ELY 8.SADE/ALLA
9.SADE/URI
10 RO 152 M 17DEC 7 TLVOTP HK9 3 2230 0115+1 *1A/
11 RO 151 M 24DEC 7 OTPTLV HK9 1840 2115 *1A/
14 TK TL17DEC
16 RM PREVIOUS TKT USE - 3HH2KK 24OCT06 2812028843656
26 FHM 281-2028843656

In case of an "OPEN" return, if the old PNR is not active anymore, you have to book the return in a new PNR and mention:

OSI RO TKNE 28112345678901
OSI RO DEPT 10FEB07 RETURN 25FEB07

in order to avoid automatic cancellation due to "previous TKT use".

The sales agents will always be alerted by a SSR line in the PNR and by receiving the PNR on their queue, informing about TTL(reminder one day before auto cancellation). The tickets have to be issued before TTL will expire. After TTL expiration automatic cancellation will take place. The TTLs are not set for week-end.

On some routes/flights/classes of reservation (such as code share flights, etc), specific TTL rules may be applied according to TAROM Airline policy.

The sales agents have to comply with TTL included in the PNR, fare note restrictions, and action according to the most restrictive one.

In case of duplicate segments, one segment will be automatically cancelled same day.

In case of duplicate bookings, one PNR will be automatically cancelled according to RO policy.
