Environmental responsibility
TAROM wishes to demonstrate that increasing air traffic within the limits imposed by the environment protection measures is possible.
We wish to achieve ICAO and IATA objectives by implementing a set of measures but we also established our own objectives aiming at identification and implementation of the best practices regarding reduction of carbon emissions that both the aviation sector and the passengers can benefit from.
TAROM objectives include obtaining an efficient fuel consumption of 1.5-2% for 2009-2020 and achieving carbon neutrality in 2020, i.e. all carbon emissions resulting from TAROM flights to be compensated by different measures. To achieve these objectives, TAROM is implementing a responsibility policy on the efficiency of fuel consumption.
Access to enviroment information
France's Grenelle Law requires transport companies to inform the beneficiaries of their services of the CO2 emissions related to the transportation of their goods and of passengers. It applies to all transport services that originate or terminate at a French airport.
In accordance with the Grenelle Law, TAROM is providing CO2 emissions information for select flights originating to/from a French airport.
