In the cabin

TAROM accepts only cats and dogs in the passenger cabin, weighing up to 8 kilos (including the weight of the standard transportation cage). In order for the pets to be accepted, they must fulfill a series of health and safety requirements.

In order for pets to be accepted in the passenger cabin, they must fulfill the following requirements:

  • It must be confirmed/approved for carriage prior to check-in/boarding. Carriage of unconfirmed/unapproved pets is not allowed;
  • To be healthy: the passenger has to have a traveling international passport for the pet;
  • If you are traveling in the Schengen space, the pet must have an identification microchip and has to be vaccinated, according to the access requirements of your destination country;
  • To be carried in hardshell type containers or specially designed pet carriage soft bags (completely closed on all sides);
  • To be clean, not to be pregnant, and not to cause any discomfort to other passengers;
  • The pet must be kept inside the container/kennel/soft bag during the whole flight and must fit completely inside (including head and tail).

Maximum Cage Dimensions and Aircraft Limits
The maximum cage dimensions must not exceed 42 x 26 x 20 cm. Additionally, the maximum number of pets traveling in the passenger cabin is restricted based on the aircraft type:

Important! As the PETC special service is limited, please note that before booking your trip, you must contact the Call Center to check the availability of the PETC service and then make your trip reservation.

If you show up at the check-in desk or at the boarding gate without a confirmed reservation for your pet or if you do not follow the acceptance and transport conditions (maximum weight, health, cleanliness, standard cage dimensions, etc.), we can deny the carriage of your pet.
