“We announce with great pleasure the entry of a new external flight from Iasi, an important hub in the country, our object being to diversify the routes portfolio in areas of the country with a development potential. The data which we received demonstrate that Iasi-Madrid will be a profitable route, all the more so as such flight is not operated currently from Iasi and for us this is an advantage. Our company customers will enjoy, as we accustomed them, quality services on this new route, being able to travel safely and in comfort. We are glad that the partnership of TAROM with Iasi Airport is in a continuous development”.
Marius BODEA, President of the Iasi International Airport Board of Directors
“Opening the new direct flight Iasi-Madrid is materialized as a result of the intense negotiations with our partner TAROM, which understood that such project is worth to be implemented. We are talking about a flight which was expected for a long time. The requests for this destination, which are numerous and come from various areas, but also the connections between the two cities, on various activity levels, represented the economic basis for our partner. The direct flight Iasi-Madrid implies a 4 hours flight duration and the use of an aircraft which allows the transport of multiple passengers at once in order to be profitable. The connection of Iasi with the capital city of Spain was necessary, due to the fact that we are talking about a touristic destination of great impact. Moreover, Madrid is an important cultural and university centre, were many young persons from our region go to study. At the same time, Madrid is known as a strong industrial and business centre, therefore creating the possibility that new foreign investors come to develop their businesses in our region, but it is also a city where numerous fellow countrymen work, who are returning to the country and are contributing, indirectly, to the economic development of the region. At the same time, the new route facilitates the reunion of families more often, many persons from the region of Moldova living in Madrid. I want to thank TAROM company for its openness and its trust in us when they understand that Iasi has a development potential”.
