Terms and Conditions – TAROM Gift Card/Voucher
These Terms and Conditions govern the relationship between the purchaser, the user, and TAROM. By purchasing and/or using the Gift Card, you confirm your full acceptance of these Terms and Conditions, which were made available to you at the time of purchase, via the Gift Card delivery email, as well as on tarom.ro.
1.1. “Gift Card” means the TAROM prepaid digital card issued by TAROM, which can be used to purchase eligible flights and selected ancillary services through TAROM sales channels.
1.2. “Issue Date” means the date on which the Gift Card is initially purchased or electronically delivered, whichever occurs first.
1.3. “Expiry Date” means the final date by which the Gift Card must be used, namely 12 months from the Issue Date, expiring at 23:59 UTC on that date.
1.4. “Promo Code” means a promotional discount code issued by TAROM, which may reduce the purchase price of a Gift Card, in accordance with specific campaign rules.
1.5. “Voucher” means a voucher issued by TAROM as a result of compensation, refund, or Residual Value Voucher, subject to separate TAROM voucher terms and conditions.
1.6. “Extra Services” means eligible TAROM ancillary services such as baggage, seat selection, sports equipment, pet transport, and ticket change fees, where available.
2.1. TAROM Gift Cards may be purchased exclusively through TAROM authorized channels and are delivered only in electronic format; physical gift cards are not issued.
2.2. TAROM Gift Cards may be purchased for yourself or for any chosen recipient.
2.3. The TAROM Gift Card is valid for bookings made within 12 months from the purchase date, with no limitation on the travel date. Any remaining balance after 12 months is non-refundable.
2.4. TAROM may allow scheduled delivery (“Send later”) for a future date selected during checkout; however, the Expiry Date remains calculated from the initial Issue Date.
2.5. The purchaser is solely responsible for entering the correct recipient email address. TAROM is not liable for failed deliveries caused by incorrect recipient details.
2.6. The purchaser cannot modify the parameters defined at the time of purchase.
2.7. The purchase of a TAROM Gift Card cannot be cancelled.
2.8. The “Scheduled send” option cannot be modified.
2.9. After payment is completed, you will receive a confirmation email and the corresponding invoice.
2.10. After successful purchase, the Gift Card, including the unique card number and PIN code, will be delivered electronically by email to the designated recipient.
2.11. TAROM is not responsible in case of theft or loss of the Gift Card/Voucher, and any remaining balance will not be transferred to a new Gift Card/Voucher. The PIN code must be kept secure.
2.12. The TAROM Gift Card is active and ready for use immediately after purchase.
2.13. When purchasing a ticket or any additional service related to your booking, a new invoice will be issued.
2.14. TAROM reserves the right to reject or cancel any Gift Card order containing offensive, inappropriate, fraudulent, or illegal content.
3.1. In accordance with applicable legislation regarding digital content not supplied on a tangible medium, once the purchaser provides explicit consent for the immediate delivery of the TAROM Gift Card and acknowledges the loss of the right of withdrawal, the purchase becomes non-refundable and cannot be cancelled.
4.1. TAROM Gift Cards are transferable and may be used to purchase flights or eligible services for another person.
4.2. TAROM Gift Cards/Vouchers cannot be used for:
- TAROM Flight Pass
- purchases with loyalty points
- partner airline loyalty bookings
- purchasing additional TAROM Gift Cards
4.3. Only one TAROM Gift Card/Voucher may be used per booking, unless explicitly permitted otherwise by TAROM.
4.4. TAROM Gift Cards/Vouchers cannot be converted into cash, credit, or bank refunds, except where required by mandatory law.
4.5. The Gift Card/Voucher may be used within 12 months from the Issue Date.
4.6. After 12 months, any remaining balance is non-refundable.
5.1. The TAROM Gift Card/Voucher may be used to purchase flight tickets and eligible ancillary services such as baggage, seat selection, sports equipment, and pet transport, both during the initial booking process and after booking through available TAROM channels. If the total purchase value exceeds the available balance, the difference must be paid by the recipient using an accepted payment method.
5.2. TAROM Gift Cards/Vouchers may be used exclusively via:
- tarom.ro
- TAROM mobile application
- TAROM Call Center
- Partner travel agencies
5.3. TAROM Gift Cards/Vouchers cannot be used through unauthorized third-party agencies unless expressly approved by TAROM.
5.4. TAROM Gift Cards/Vouchers must be used in the same currency in which they were issued.
5.5. TAROM Gift Cards/Vouchers may be used for full or partial payment. Any remaining balance must be paid using an accepted payment method.
5.6. If the Gift Card/Voucher balance exceeds the booking value, the remaining amount stays available until the original Expiry Date.
5.7. The TAROM Gift Card/Voucher may be used multiple times until the balance is fully exhausted or until the Expiry Date.
5.8. Travel booked using a TAROM Gift Card/Voucher may take place after the Expiry Date, provided the booking was completed before expiry.
6.1. If a booking purchased fully or partially with a TAROM Gift Card/Voucher is voluntarily cancelled by the passenger, any refundable amount will be credited to the original form of payment, valid for 12 months from the date of crediting, subject to applicable fare conditions and cancellation fees.
6.2. If TAROM cancels or significantly modifies a flight, refundable amounts paid via Gift Card/Voucher will be returned in full to the same form of payment, in accordance with passenger rights and TAROM policy.
6.3. Tickets initially purchased with a bank card or cash may, upon request, be refunded in the form of a Voucher, in accordance with TAROM refund procedures.
6.4. The refundable value will be determined in accordance with the fare conditions selected at the time of booking.
6.5. Non-refundable fares remain subject to the fare conditions selected at the time of booking.
7.1. The purchaser or recipient is solely responsible for safeguarding the Gift Card/Voucher number and PIN code. Possession of these details may be considered valid authorization for use.
7.2. TAROM shall not be liable for technical interruptions, system unavailability, or temporary failures beyond its reasonable control, provided that reasonable efforts are made to restore functionality.
8.1. By purchasing or using a TAROM Gift Card/Voucher, you consent to TAROM processing personal data necessary for transaction processing, fraud prevention, customer service, and legal compliance, in accordance with the TAROM Privacy Policy.
9.1. These Terms and Conditions are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Romania.
9.2. Any dispute arising from or related to TAROM Gift Cards/Vouchers shall be subject to the competent courts of Romania, unless mandatory consumer protection laws provide otherwise.
10.1. These Terms and Conditions, together with TAROM’s General Conditions of Carriage, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and applicable fare rules, constitute the entire agreement governing TAROM Gift Cards/Vouchers.
