- Name correction refers to all cases in which the correction of the name does not involve passenger replacement or route change (route / travel dates / flights/ RBDs).
- Name correction can be made only on RO operated flights
- In a reservation in which another carrier is involved, a new reservation must be made having the correct name, in the initial RBD, if available ( if these are not available, the correction can be made using u/g)
- The most common cases coved by the name correction procedure are:
– 1-3 misspelled letters (reversed/missing/extra letters in the last and/or first names);
– Last name missing/extra last name;
– First name missing (if the middle name is missing, no re-issuance is needed)/ extra first name;
– Usual diminutives: Dana instead of Daniela, Cristi instead of Cristian, Costi instead of Constantin, etc.;
– Last name/First name + last name repetition;
– Post marriage/divorce change of the last name (based on the marriage certificate or divorce decision) or in case of voluntary name change;
– The passenger declared his/her nickname or stage name (only with supporting documents);
– Other cases in which the name in the reservation do not match the one in the ID which was introduced in the reservation before the ticket was issued.
- The correction name can be made free of charge for non-ticketed reservation or for void tickets (error traced the same day .
- In a reservation with a ticket already issued (unused or partially used) it is mandatory to re-issue the respective ticket with the correct name with the collection of a CP penalty, except in the case of business class tickets which will be re-issued without this penalty ( on all external segments).
The penalty for name correction for tickets issued for individual passengers is:
- 25 EUR for tickets issued by IATA agents from any BSP and GSA
- 10 EUR for tickets issued by RO agency ( internal/external or RO site)
- 0 (zero) EUR, regardless the issue agent, for Business Class issued tickets on all external travel segments
- On correction cases for non-ticketed reservation or for void tickets (error traced the same day), no penalty will be charged.
Service penalty for re-issue tickets for name correction is:
- 0 (zero) EUR for tickets issued by RO agency/ RO site
- 10 EUR for tickets issued by an IATA agents ( in addition to the CP penalty of 25 EUR)
New penalties will be in force for name correction transactions starting January 01, 2023 (inclusively).
