A/As you are already informed, effective 1 June 2008 all travel agents in the BSP system will be inhibited from issuing paper tickets and IATA will withdraw paper ticket stock from the BSPs.
TAROM tickets issued by travel agents prior to 1 June 2008 will be valid for travel within their validity, depending on the fare conditions.
Travel agents in the ARC system (USA) are not inhibited from issuing paper tickets.
TAROM will continue to issue paper tickets at its own locations.
From 1 June 2008 TAROM will be able to provide e-tickets (ET) on its entire network (except some code-share flights), as well as to fully implement ET for infants and groups.
B/TAROM has completed interline e-ticket agreements (IET) by 31 July 2010 with 58 carriers (for complete list pls check CRSs).
C/Ticket issuance policy.
The issuance of an ET is mandatory whenever issuance of an ET is technically possible.
The situations accepted by TAROM where an itinerary will not be eligible for ET are:
- some carriers are not providing ET or IET;
- some carriers are not providing ET or IET for infant/group tickets;
- some carriers are not providing ET or IET for OPEN segments;
- journeys over 16 segments (2 separate tickets to be issued);
- systems errors where although an itinerary appears as ET eligible it still cannot be issued electronically.
The paper tickets for the situations above will be issued by TAROM on behalf of travel agents against V-MPD/V-MCO(processed as a PTA order without PTA fee).
D/V-MPD/V-MCO issuance policy.
TAROM will accept V-MPD/V-MCO transactions with reason for issuance according to each market instructions (see BSP Link)
Completion of V-MPD/V-MCO:

Very important: Enter the V-MPD/V-MCO number, reason for issue code and the amount in the PNR as a SSR element for transmittal to TAROM e.g.

E/ V-MPD/V-MCO acceptance/actio Travel agents shall issue a V-MPD/V-MCO no later than *) hours before
the time of departure on the first segment in the itinerary to be issued

F/Collecting change fees on TAROM.
There are two methods to collect change fees on TAROM:
1.By reissuing the original ticket (ET into another ET, paper ticket into ET).
In this case the provided CHANGE FEE will be collected and shown in the new ET as tax item code CP (may be used immediately).
NOTE: CP tax amount is NON REFUNDABLE, except in the case of irregularities!
For technical information regarding reissues please contact your local CRS Helpdesk.
2.By issuing a V-MPD/V-MCO. This method will be used only if the reissuance is not technically possible.
We strongly recommend to use method no. 1.
