Compensation for cancelled or delayed flights

If your flight operated by TAROM arrived more than 3 hours late at its destination, was cancelled, a flight irregularity caused you to miss a connection, or an unforeseen downgrade or denied boarding situation occurred, you have the option to request compensation in accordance with Art. 7 of Regulation (EC) No 261/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of the European Union.

TAROM offers the option to choose one of the compensation methods below, depending on your payment method or Flying Blue status:

* The electronic voucher can be used to purchase TAROM tickets on TAROM flights (RO number) or additional services within one year of the date of issue. The value of the voucher is non-refundable.

** Compensation in the form of miles can only be granted to Flying Blue members.

Your compensation may be reduced by 50% if the arrival time of the new flight does not exceed by:

  • 2 hours, for all flights of 1500 km or less, or
  • 3 hours, for all intra-Community flights over 1500 km and for all other flights between 1500 km and 3500 km, or
  • 4 hours, for flights over 3500 km, the scheduled arrival time of your original flight.

This compensation system is based on European Regulation 261/2004.
